We cannot help cars and other vehicles up to 7.5t.!

We are very sorry but we only work with trucks and trailers. Here are a few recommendations on how you can get help in the case of a breakdown.

Call please ADAC breakdown service 24/7 to get help

Call please ADAC breakdown service 24/7 to get help

We recommend that you prepare the following information before applying:

  • GPS coordinates
  • Details of the vehicle (make, model, registration number, VIN code if applicable)
  • Description of problem or symptoms (error codes)
  • Is there insurance in case of accident / breakdown
  • how you will pay for the service (cash / credit card / prepayment) if your insurance does not cover such services

Important!
If you do not have access to ADAC or other roadside assistance services, you can also contact the local police (Polizei) who can arrange for the car to be towed or provide information on the nearest assistance services.

You may also be able to contact local towing or recovery services, which can be found on the Internet by searching for such key words:

  • Abschleppdienst in der Nähe - tow truck near me
  • Autowerkstatt - workshop
  • Reifen service - tyre service

In an accident, call the emergency services:

  • the police (Polizei),
  • the fire brigade (Feuerwehr)
  • ambulance (Rettungswagen)

If your vehicle is under warranty or has insurance, contact your insurance agent or dealer for further instructions and assistance. They can provide information on the nearest authorised service facilities where repairs can be carried out under warranty or insurance conditions.

What is to be done before help comes?

  1. If possible, drive to the nearest car park or side lane (Seitenstreifen) or try to reach a special emergency stop pocket (Nothaltebucht, Pannenbucht) to avoid obstructing other drivers and yourself. When doing so, switch on the warning light (Warnblinker).

  2. All passengers must wear reflective waistcoats before exiting the vehicle. The waistcoats must be in the passenger compartment and not in the luggage compartment.

  3. Wait for help to arrive behind the bumper rail. Do not remain inside the vehicle. Leave the car through the doors on the right-hand side if possible.

  4. Set up an emergency stop sign (Warndreieck) on the right-hand side of the blocked lane. If you are stopped in the left lane, stop on the left-hand side. On the motorway, there must be at least 150 metres between your car and the sign.

  5. Call for technical assistance. If you do not have your mobile phone with you, you can call for technical assistance on the Autobahn via emergency call boxes (Notrufsäule). In Germany there are one every two kilometres, so it is always no more than a kilometre to the nearest one. Black triangles on guard posts (Leitpfosten) every fifty metres show the direction.

It is important to remember that these recommendations are general and may vary according to the specific situation and needs.
