Naturally, before embarking on a long trip, he decided not to take any chances and perform a diagnosis and repair if necessary. He found the nearest authorized DAF service station near Kassel and drove his DAF truck there. But he was refused service.

The reason given was: they don’t know the customer, don’t have a customer ID number in the workshop, and require an advance payment. To make matters worse, the driver did not speak German, and it was not possible to negotiate with the specialists thanks to Google translate. We know that this situation is not uncommon. Often German workshops would rather not accept machinery from foreigners without a workshop number for repair, or demand an advance payment right away.

How we solved a customer's problem with a DAF truck

The DAF truck service refused to help because having to deal with the DAF truck required prepayment guarantees, or a customer ID number.

The customer approached us with the following request: can we act as payment guarantor and interpreter for him at the repair store?

We immediately provided the truck service with a payment bond, and the DAF truck was repaired that day. It turned out that the problem was in the alternator bearing.
